The German Saturday School for Pre-, Primary- and Secondary pupils in Melbourne is situated north of the city in Clifton Hill. Our students are 4 to 14 years old and come to school on approximately 40 Saturdays a year. All our teachers are native German speakers and have recognised qualifications. The school caters for both, students with German background and those without. The German Saturday School is run, organised and administered by an annually elected parents' committee. It is mainly financed through members' and participants' contributions. The Victorian Department of Education and the German Consulate also support the school financially. As well as learning the German language, the students are given geographical and cultural knowledge. The highlight of the school year is the annual Christmas party, where students create a "German Christmas Spirit" for relatives and visitors through songs and their stage plays.

Another highlight, particularly for participating parents, is the German breakfast at the AGM. Learning German at the school is combined with play and fun. Once or twice a year an outing is organised. In previous years we visited the Botanical Garden and the Melbourne Museum - which leads to new discoveries, learning and fun. Contact our principal or our Parents' Committee president via phone or email, if you wish to receive further and more detailed information or want to send us your comments, feedback and suggestions.
