For over 30 years the world has been seeing advanced computer technology - in the arcades, as well as pool halls, night clubs, bowling alleys, etc...
In the years before home computers existed and long before the internet, all that colorful pixel technology saw
patent after patent in arcade video game cabinets. Both in digital
extremes and cabinet design, they were a financial success entirely in
quarters. This site is dedicated to
the company that started it all. it is public so please look around and enjoy the vintage images, then view my other Atari sites.

Did you know....
->Atari made the video game sequencee sshown in Superman III from 1983
->Atari introduced the world's first Trak-Ball controller
, the
same concept as the mouse mechanism that powered the first ten years of
'windows' and gui, in 1977s 'Football' arcade game. This innovative control gives players free movement of direction and speed response.
->Atari Games was identified as 'Time Warner Interactive' thru
1993-1996 or thereabouts
___...Warner Bros/Time
Warner, who owned Atari (Games) since the late 1970's, sold the
company to WMS Ind. in 1996/97.
Atari holds several patents for computer and video game technology, controller design and cabinet design, color vector technology, and many others.
As of early 2000, owner WMS Ind. decided to change the Atari Games name to Midway Games West, perhaps to avoid confusion with the Hasbro/Infogrames owned division of Atari. A decision I DO NOT agree with !!! WMS is the parent company of long time pinball maker Williams Electronics. They also purchased Bally/Midway shortly before purchasing Atari Games. By 2002 all production of coin-op video games from any part of Midway Games was stopped :(
