"I'm not going to say anything because nobody believes me when I do."
-Ringo Starr
Richard Starkey joined the Beatles in 1962, the last to join the band. He got the stage name Ringo Starr from all the rings he wore on his fingers. Cute, loveable Ringo replaced Pete Best as drummer of the Beatles, and--ahem--a Starr was born. During his time with the Beatles, Ringo wrote the songs "Don't Pass Me By" and "Octopus's Garden," and co-penned "What Goes On" with Lennon and McCartney.
After the breakup, Ringo persued an acting career, as well as recording a number of great songs, such as the hits "Photograph," "You're Sixteen" and "It Don't Come Easy."
Like Paul, Ringo continues to be  active in music and frequently tours with his All-Starr Band.
"I don't mind talking or smiling. I just don't do it very much. I haven't got a smiling face or a talking mouth."
"I like kids. I used to be one."
"I love Beethoven, especially his poems."
"Of course I'm ambitious. What's wrong with that? Otherwise you sleep all day."
"I'd like to end up sort of...unforgettable."
