30 JUNE 2003

Welcome to my page, I have not been able to update it for awhile. I had a site set up and then I accidentally changed the format one day. So it was messed up for awhile.
I wanted to let you all know that haven't visited my site recently that I was married to Stephanie Kristie Alfaro on the 23rd of January this year. You can see our Wedding Photos. God sent her into my life and she has helped me so much during my time away from home. We are planning on having our church ceremony in January of 2004 in Amarillo.
Right now I am in Kuwait in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. I have been here since March 11th. I have seen things here that I never really had thought about, regardless of my training, regardless of the movies, until you see the ugly face of war I don't think you can truly understand it.
Life, however, is good. My wife is home in Atlanta. She will be going to school shortly at Georgia State University to get her degree in Criminal Justice. I still have two years left in the Army and don't know exactly what I want to do as far as my career, if Kristie would let me I'd just be Mr. Mom, I know you can see that happening too if you really know me.
But anyways, thanks for visiting and checking out my site. I really appreciate it. I'll be updating periodically through the next fifty years I think, take after my granddad. Ha. But you all take care and God Bless you all.

Pictures

These are a few people from my unit in a ceremony we had shortly before coming to Kuwait. From left to right, SSG Denise Love, SGT Jon Harrison, SPC Marcus Persson, a bronzen sex God, SPC William "Billy" Lang, and MSG Mark Kassahn, affectionately called the "Old Man." Notice the shiny boots, ain't like that in the desert.

This is a picture of Kristie that shows how truly gorgeous and beautiful she really is. Look at her eyes. I'm going to tell you all a little secret, if you find a woman like her, keep her, protect her, and take care of her, your rewards are greater than any sacrifice that you may have to make.

This is us inside of our apartment before I came over here, we were so happy. No more American Idol here. Ha. We actually had a quaint little apartment with a huge deck, it was cool though until other people started wanting to hang out on it. Those bastards. Ha.

This is our cat, he thinks he's human, and rightfully so, he gets treated like one. His name is Sebastian and when I'm not punching him in the kidneys or making him smell the toilet, I usually just look at him. One day as I was choking and coughing, Kristie says, "Baby, did you want some water." I catch my breath and then look at her and say, "No thanks, I'm fine." She laughs and says she was talking to the cat, she was serious too.

I came over here and immediately found me a ride, not really, I've been the commander's driver the whole time. Kind of easy. I tried to talk him into letting me lower the suburban, put in some JL Audio 15's and get some rims, you know the ones with the looptie loops, but he wouldn't go for it. He is an east coast fan anyways.

These are two of my friends over here, Persson and Lang, we're all the same rank, we get along. Persson recently went home to watch the birth of his first daughter, so if you see this man, congrats. Lang is still here, him and I have serious conversations all the time, but we're both alike so we rarely get along, he's still my D-O-G though, I just don't pick up his poop when we go on walks.

This is Larry Cushing, my supervisor for two and a half years, he just left the unit to be a first sergeant at one of our companies. He's cool, except that he's trying to smack me in this picture. See his problem is that he really likes putting his feet up and scratching, I've told him several times to do something about it, but he never does. Oh well. I guess sometimes, when they itch, you gotta scratch.

This is Gary Stair, my new supervisor and friend. His wife and my wife get along, they are both back in Atlanta holding down the forts. He likes long walks on the beach too. Nevermind. No he's from Florida, so he probably does. He's helped me out a lot while over here, including making me take my fat body to the gym. I just wish he wasn't so rough. Ha. Notice how often I say Ha. That means laugh and if you're not be prepared to receive a fresh stack of bricks from the UPS dude, upon receipt, go ahead, unwrap the nice little package and slap yourself with the first brick. Repeat until the first brick is broke, then use the supply that I have sent you so kindly.

This is my best friend Saddam, I haven't heard from him in awhile. Oh well. Somebody said that one of his wives was actually a sheep. Intelligence has confirmed, however, that it's actually a camel with three humps, yeah it's laying upside down.

This is not Johnny Five. Enough said, unless you were born after the eighties, and still, even though you suck, enough said.

This is Lang and me hanging out before a barbeque, they usually try to give us a party at least once a month. We've went overboard a couple of times though. Overboard as in no beer, my wife is not here, and the food sucked, but hey, I'm an optimist, maybe the next one will be better.

The majority of my time here, other than driving is spent at the desk, not in civies, but close enough. I have been going to the gym as you can tell by my huge biceps, I'm not conceited, but they're so big that the other day when they released The Hulk, I got asked for my autograph six times, they just kept saying, oh we love you Nick. Who the hell is Nick?

This is what I wish everyone else could do at least once a day. Especially if you have just passed gas like I did in this photo.

I also got to paint a barrier for the bridge that connects the two sides of this post. On the day that this picture was taken, at ten in the morning it was 109 degrees.

This is my key photo op for my baby. I love you Kristie.

This is the finished product. I think it turned out alright, unless you don't like big signs that are off-centered.

I also designed this t-shirt using myself as the model, of course.

And this was printed on another t-shirt.

This is my cousin Jon, he's in El Paso I think, I don't really know though, maybe I should ask him. But he's starting a band and asked me a favor, to design something with a far-out tree and a wicked tree house. He sent me this picture in the e-mail.

This is what I came up with after about fifteen minutes of work. I think it in itself looks far out but I don't know if the tree is wicked enough or the tree house cool enough, but just goes to show you what a little bit of time it takes to make a decent picture look twisted. If you want anything done graphically, call someone else, if you want something done to question sanity, call me.
