We are also active with Ham Radio. We are building our own 2 meter VHF repeater. We are currently using a Homebrew system, . We are now through coordination with A.R.C.A. for 146.700 -.600

We live just outside of Chloride Arizona. Chloride is a old mining town that was founded in 1873 at the beginning of the silver boom. Most of the mining was for Silver but Gold was also foundAt one time, Chloride bosted over 20 Saloons and Brothels. Choride also is the home to the Longest continued operating US Post Office in the United States.After the silver and gold ran out, so did most of the residents.

Modern Wealth

Tourism

Today, Chloride's main wealth is it's rich history which brings tourists from all over the world. Most tourists have heard of the Chloride Murals painted by Roy Purcell in the 60's. Miners Day always brings a huge crowd on the last Saturday in June each year, which includes a parade, lots of vendors and live entertainment from the local Gunfighters. Saint Patricks Day is always celebrated with a parade, cornbeef and cabbage served up at Yesterday's Resteruant and shootouts by our local gunfighter groups, The "Immortal Gunfighters" and the "Wild Roses" which is the only all womens gunfighter group in the world. Remember the past is very fragile. Respect old buildings and ruins and leave any artifacts where you find them to preserve them for future generations.

Shopping

Chloride now offers some of the most unique shopping in the world. From Van Meter's world renown Jewlery to Fine Antiques. There is plenty to do and see in Chloride but if you need a Wal Mart, Kingman is only 30 minutes away.

Sight Seeing
There are plenty of backroads to explore. Most are OK for 2 wheel drive pickups. For the 4 wheelers and ATVs, there are lots of old mining claims and ruins to explore. The BLM Road to Windy Point is a spectacular drive to the top of the Cerbat Mountatins overlooking the basin on the north side to Golden Valley to the South. Remember when taking a trip into the back country to take supplies such as; a First Aid Kit, flashlight, shovel, cell phone, drinking water and some snacks. Always tell someone where you are going and when you should return.


Hiking & Camping
There are many backroads through the Cerbat Mountains including Pack Saddle and Windy Point Campgrounds with hiking trails. Chloride features a RV Park, The Wagon Wheel RV Park with full hookups.




Our Story
In 1985 we found a perfect section of land outside of Choride in Silver Sage. We always planned to retire here. In 1992 we started to do some work on the property, started up a weekender home and before we knew it, we sold our house in Bullhead City and moved here full time.

    Our hobbies include: Geocaching, Car Shows, Cruising our 57 Chevy, and enjoying the rich history of our area.
