The Battle of the Authors

Actually, this title is a little misleading.  It insinuates that both authors were invloved in a conflict of some sort, when infact it was just Matt being a dickhead.

As we said, Matt felt he had lost control of his series.  Why he thought this after having Craig write one episode, we don't really know.  But so it goes.  As it was, Craig ended up writing another episode, #19.  Matt's grasp on his series was all but gone.  Something he had nursed from the relative infancy of episode 6 all the way to episode 17, was now being finished without him.  What was he to do?

In protest of the fate that had befallen his series, Matt wrote his own versions of episodes 18 and 19.  While Craig's versions, which have come to be known as 18C and 19C, were not destroyed, they were essentially eliminated from the
MS universe.  Matt went as far as to have people read both his and Craig's versions in a vain attempt to prove his were the "better" variations.  Craig meanwhile, sat back.  That's not exactly right.  He called Matt on his "dickheaded-ness".  While the conscience of Matt was stirred, he still felt his episodes were superior to Craig's.  Months went by with no change in status for either episode.  Though 22 episodes existed, including Craig's two, any copy of the series which was printed by Matt did not include 18C or 19C.

Eventually, though no solid reasoning has been attributed as to why, Matt finally came around and awarded full "episode" status on Craig's two episodes, though Matt's appear before Craig's, in the final printings.  The Mr. Sandwich Series was now officially 22 episodes long. It was truly a glorious day.  18C and 19C finally attained their rightful position in the
MS universe.

Infact, even prior to their ultimate inclusion in the series, they had a major effect on how the series was to turn out.  Though Matt and Craig had had discussions about the series and it's ending, it was Craig's 18C that ushered in the authors, starting with Craig's character, Page, the starving author.  Quickly deified by Matt, Page and Trey have become integral members of the universe.  Isn't that where deities belong? I suppose it only makes sense.  Though we have heard rumors that Trey's part has been consciously limited in the upcoming
Mr. Sandwich: The Katelyn Collection.  We believe this may be a sign of Matt's having developed some humility after a line count shows that in Mr.Sandwich: Genesis, Trey has the most lines, outdistancing the next highest speaker, oddly enough Page, by 101 lines at 293 for Trey, and 192 for Page.

So who would we be not to include a page devoted to the deities, Trey and Page, themselves?  No one.  That's who.  Sorry folks.  This link will be here soon.  I need some power sleep.  And so I shall. More later.
