The Mr. Sandwich History
We did what research we could into Mr. Sandwich history, and found the authors somewhat uncooperative.  What little we were able to find out from them was that Mr. Sandwich was begun in Portland, Oregon in the late winter of 2000.  February to be exact.  At this place:
Wilson High School.  We also know that one of the original two authors, Craig (they asked us not to use last names), had, at the start of the month embarked upon a fast which was to run the entire month of February.  Criag mentioned later, that he was thankful he chose to do so in the month of February.  Though consultation of a calendar will show that February of 2000 was in a leap year, so Craig's "wise" choice of the shortest month only garnered him at most,  two days less fasting.

As we were told, on about the 4th or 5th day of fasting, Craig was understandably hungry.  To ward off Craig's hunger, Craig and the other author, Matt, while in the library of Wilson decided the best thing to do was to write a short scene involving talking food.  What to call it?  Why not something about a sandwich?  A good, sturdy item.  Who should the characters be?  Perhaps objects found in a sandwich.  Like a BLT.  Thus were born Billy for Bacon, Lonnie for Lettuce, and Tina for Tomato.  But a leader would surely be needed.  Enter Reuben.  Though named after a type of sandwich, it was decided he would be a can of Pepsi.

This is where the authors, Craig and Matt became useless in the research process.  Based off of their information, we have set the initial creation date of Mr. Sandwich at Feb. 4, 2000.  But we were able to dredge up some more info. So, onward!
