    An Evening Raga

Mitali was born in 1971 at Habra, West Bengal.

Her early years were days of struggle.  Nurturing a desire to be an artist was not so easy in a lower-middle class family. But she had an imaginative mind, a flair for drawing, a most-needed desire to be an artist and a soft and sympathetic heart for the have-nots.  That certainly does not mean, she was averse to all haves.  All these took shape in her expression and led her to get admitted in Indian Art College. She got her diploma in 1991.

Despite her brilliance in works in watercolour and oil, she chose her path in Collage painting. Her selection and arrangements of colours in a different media hold the subtlety and nuances of painting. That not only satisfied her urge to explore the possibilities in a different media but also gave her a chance to excel.

Since 1994, her works have been exhibited in several prestigious exhibitions in Calcutta and Mumbai.  Collectors of her works include several big hotels, CSGC, in India and abroad.

This page incorporates some of  her old as well as latest works.
