Beebe Family forced to sell ranch; Long time Casa home course
CHRISTOPHER CHUNG / Press Democrat

August 17, 2005
It was the fall of 1992, and Casa Grande Cross Country was in the midst of its glory days. After winning the SCL League Title for the first time in the fourteen year history of the team the previous year, they won their second consecutive title with their new course; Beebe Ranch. Other than the long dirt road which opposing team bus drivers often refused to tackle in order to get to the ranch, it was widely regarded as one of the best courses in the Sonoma Country League. The 2.74 mile course saw some of the counties best runners, including Casa's Ricky Esponda, NCS Champion Nate Kabanuck, Ian Messier, and Angie Kabanuck. In 2002, Casa found a new home at Martinelli Ranch when new owners took over at Beebe. Recently, the county has required owners of the Beebe family ranch to remove nearly 1 million illegally dumped tires, which have piled up in ravines. With the future of the ranch uncertain, it's anyones guess as to what will happen to it.
