CONTESSA
Welcome everyone, I had been out sick for the past week, I think I had the flu I cannot remember but it really sucked.  While being sick I found a few things online that I am dying to share with you all.  I think being sick really gave me the advantage to kind of research what is really going on out there in the Gothic world.  There is so much anxiety about the suv cultures and the new music its only begun to be ridiculeous.  I hope it is somewhat informational if not, atleast entertaining.  *smoochies*
BRIEF HISTORY
I have been researching fashion and the Goth culture since 1995 and being a Goth myself for a few years I wanted to share a few do's and dont's, fashion tips, DIY gothic clothing and hair and makeup.  I have been designing clothing for a little while now and I will soon open an online store with my best friend next year.  Everything described on this page is my personal creation, and you will not find it any other place.
CLOTHING:   I think the appropriate wardrobe for the Goth community is what you create yourself, then again other people have their own perspective about what kind of garments are Goth and what arent.  It is tradition really that Goths (of course) separate themselves from the mainstream and try to kind of revive the DIY fashion that for so long has been dormant.  This does not mean that (everything) needs to be DIY because not everyone has the time or skill to try I have a few tips that might help (Click Here)
HAIR:   The beauty of a woman/man's locks I think are necessary the first thing people notice is your face but with that comes those silly little things at the very top of your head.  Some Goth's prefer to style their own hair and others prefer to buy falls, wigs or hair pieces..whatever the pick I think it all fits every and any kind of individual that takes pleasure in the art of hair design Take a look (Click Here)
GOTHIC LOLITA

In all of my years I would have never thought I would feast my eyes on this new wave kind of Gothic (if that is what you call it) kind of clothing.  I believe it originated in Japan and if it did I'm glad it didnt come from here because to me (fashion wise) is  really dispecable.  I dont remember Goth fashion being about candy canes and lolipops and all of the other bullshit you can plainly see here.  There is nothing beautiful about what already is beautiful and that I dont condone.  Goth clothing should be about self expression, individuality and quarantine of the everyday normality.  <<<this outfit is clearly not something a true (GOTH) person would wear because not only does it look ridiculeous but it looks like she stepped out of a barbie doll box (minus the boots).  Again, this is my opinion, I have watched Fashion evolve for seven years now and this is what I do for a living so for my clothing line I would not add anything that has to do with Gothic Lolita.   Foreign influences of course are used to find some kind of style that fits your taste.  I fyou like this sord of thing more power to you , even though evenly recognized and widely appreciated dont be surprised if some Goth's look the other way when they see you step into the Goth club with that dolly dress nightmare.
