It is quite impossible to explain how large the Arch of Triumph is unless one has actually seen it.  Although the measurements of the arch are approximately 50 meters high by 45 meters wide.  I tried most of the evening to take a decent photograph of it. I believe now that an angled shot at about 45 degrees to the face would have been the best shot. Even when one knows the size of the arch, that information alone does not adequetely describe its imposing granduer.
The "Arch" has a circular drive around it and twelve roads that connect to the circle.  It is simply overwhelming. It took me forty five minutes to walk around it! Just in case you are wondering...Yes! I was standing in the middle of the road when I took this shot.
