. . . Team Impost R

INTRODUCTION

First of all, I stole the design from Marsha's website until I can figure this HTML stuff out! So thanks to Marsha for being my guinea pig! hehe! (Geocities is really slow at times so please be patient as it loads up. But what do you expect for a free webpage!?! hehe! Thanks!)

Well, you're probably wondering what the hell is an ImpostR? Well, it originated from a name Geo (I think it was Geo that coined the name?)had made up for Reid and his "wannabe" GSR from a "war" that Reid and Curtis had started. Now, anyone that has any JDM R part is an ImpostR! For instance, Reid has a JDM R-spec swap, JDM front end and JDM dirt on his car and I have a CTR cam and JDM EK9 tranny. Thus, we are ImpostR's and not real R's but we have R characteristics or parts! hehe! There are several of us out there so real R's beware! ;)

Be sure to check out the Team ImpostR page as well: ImpostR.com

UPDATE!!!

1/4/05 - HAPPY NEW YEAR!! A few things have happened since my last update. I got new Buddy Club Spec 3+ cams and gears. I also hope to get a Hondata unit and get it all tuned. But right now with the xmas holiday past us I am broke, like everyone else! So tuning will have to wait, I guess. Oh well, thanks for visiting and feel free to email me at the link below... see: "send hate mail" link! haha!

8/1/04 - I guess I need to update this site. I haven't done anything to it in a while. I will see what I can come up with.

For those that don't know, someone who drove my car (cough, cough... my wife) hydrolocked my engine last year. Since then I have gotten a new engine and replaced the AEM CAI with a Comptech Ice Box. Very good design, just kind of crappy in terms of material and presentation. oh well! Thanks for visiting!

I also added an "Exterior" section and updated my "Engine" section.

3/22/03 - Check out the pics from the Subaru Daze event at Motorsport Ranch in my Pictures/Racing section. I'm easy to spot seeing that I was the only Honda out there! hehe!

The track day was great! Although I did go off track twice on the first open session. Doh! So I went to my instructor and asked for help in the areas I was having trouble and had a really good run on the second and final open session. After I learned the right lines I was able to keep up or surpass the "much faster" WRX guys. I think I suprised a lot of these guys with my non-turbo 4 banger! hehe! Again, here is the link to the event details: Scooby Track Day Link.

Although, I must point out that a lot of these guys had never been on a track so I did have that advantage. That and the fact that I am not afraid to ask for help! I want to make the most out of the limited time we had so I seek help whenever possible. A lot of these guys did not follow the correct or close to the correct racing line, which made them easy pickings at times. I was able to get on the gas sooner coming out of the corners, which made it easier to pass. And I must say that the so-called faster and more experienced Group A seemed to be the ones to run off the track the most. One guy in Group A did a 720 and broke a rim. It makes me wish I had gone into Group A so I could see just how good they thought they really were. (I hope I'm not sounding cocky!) IMO, just because you have been on the track before doesn't necessarily mean you are good. Everytime out should be a learning session for everyone. And it seemed obvious some guys could have used some pointers from some instructors. But I digress. I just hope some of these guys have a better respect for the fact that speed [and AWD] does not always mean you will be faster on a track. That was evident by the red SC'd Miata that walked away from the 650hp green Viper! Hahaha!!! Anywayz... enjoy my slow ass junky Yahoo page that is sometimes "unavailable" for some stupid Yahoo reason! Stoopid Dwiiiii!!! And thanks for visiting!
