I know many of you may ask why Personalized Greyhounds, Inc. has decided to help Spain's Galgos (Spanish hunting greyhounds)- why, when there are still so many greyhounds in the United States that are in need of homes.  The answer is not easy.  One may ask why the American Red Cross aids earthquake victims around the world, or why America sends assistance to the hungry in Africa- because we are Americans.  The welfare of American greyhounds has come a long way in the six years since PGInc has been involved.  Why?  Because someone like you saw a need and helped and then the next person helped, and the next.  The plight of the Galgos in Spain is desperate.  At the end of each hunting season, the breeding Galgos are kept and the rest are taken into the countryside to be hung, burned, shot or tortured.  This is why we feel the need for PGInc to become involved.  The Galgos need help.  Perhaps some will not agree with this project.  I want you to know that any money you contribute to PGInc will stay in the United States.  We will collect for the Galgos separately and maintain the funds separately.  I hope many of you feel the way I do.  It only takes one, and then another, and then another..... The galgo you see here is an example of the many who come into the refuges in Spain.  They  are given medical care, food and shelter, and after rehabilitation, a loving, 'forever home'.   If you would like to read more about the special rescue operations in Spain, please visit, Greyhounds In Need.
