Storyteller

Tell me a story, you said so eloquently
Your face bright and shining in the dark night
A sigh is all that escapes my lips
My heart hesitates again

So many times I've been burned
Too many past loves that have betrayed me
My fragile hope in love shattered
You bring it back to me

But again, I become the storyteller
My true feelings revealed against my better judgement
But if you read deeper into my tale
You'll see my despair in love

You ask me, so is this how it ends?
Forever is the princess trapped by her own fear?
I am unable to speak it, it hurts too much
But you know my answer
