Shine Together

Her eyes were blank as she stared at the wall. Never blinking, her breathing even, all stats were normal, except one. Her brain waves were off the charts.

Quietly he sang to her, his voice deep and melodious. "The illusion is real, little girl. Learn to live here and be my princess."

Her long pink hair flowed down her back tangle-free because the nurses meticulously brushed it twice a day. The light blue hospital gown clashed with her hair and complexion and caused her to look as pale as death.

Alarms sounded as the nurses shouted over the intercom for the doctors. Her heart stopped.

"Don't leave my realm, little girl. It isn't safe out there. Be my princess."

Tears flowed down from her unseeing eyes. She heard voices shouting her name which sounded so unfamiliar to her now.

She stepped back from him when she saw a flash of white. She had to save her bride. She had to save her Anthy. She ran in her dress, the beautiful dress that signified her slavery. She reached her hand out to the purple haired little girl. She took the swords...

A small trickle of blood ran down from the corner of her mouth. Her parents stood outside the glass screaming her name.

Breaking the coffin, she was free. Her princess was free of her slavery.

She fell back on the soft bed, a smile on her lips as she uttered her last words. "Someday we'll shine together..."
