Seasons

Skies of rain, and summers of heat
I dream of you, the day we'll meet
Moons pass quietly in the starry sky
And I think of times that have passed me by
Smiling at me with your hand reaching
Never knowing of the love you were teaching
So many times my heart has broken
Mending it whenever you've spoken
Melodious voice, sweet as the spring
I was too nervous to give you that ring
Beautiful mind, and an open heart
Every sentence a form of art
I broke you, your mind, spirit and will
I wonder if you think of me still
Do you look fondly, or only have hate
I've come back, but is it too late
I come to see, to be with you
But now I know the other, too
My time is past, this man is yours
Those opportunities, now closed doors
I live forever, watching your life
Wondering if I should take that knife
Cause Fate has cursed me with life neverending
I think my time is not worth spending
You thought me cruel, you thought me mean
But no one else could I have seen
I loved you well, I loved you much
And now my memories, I must clutch
For all that's left of wonderful you
Is the light shining on the morning dew
