The Magic Bug

Part 1

(Author's Note: Not only that I'm attempting to finish this fic, I've also edited and revised some part of it. If you have the old copies, replace them with this new one. Arigato!)

"We're going now, Teacher. Bye!". Chacha yelled on the top of her voice, waving goodbye.

"Wait, Chacha! You forgot your lunch." Seravi called to his student, clutching the large picnic basket.

Of course, Riiya, being the Riiya that he is, shrieked, "FOOD!!!!!", sped back to the house, and nearly ripped Seravi's arm as he snatched the picnic basket from the teacher.

But before he had the chance to gobble it all up, Shiine, deftly grabbed it from the salivating wolfboy.

"You dumb dog! What on earth are you thinking?! How are we gonna survive for days looking for the magical city of Dlasim if you're just gonna gobble all the food we have in a matter of seconds?!"

"Grrr!!! Don't call me a dog! I'm not a dog! I'm a WOLF!!!" Riiya shouted, temper flaring up.

"Oh really, just be a good puppy dog and behave will ya?" Shiine smirked.

"THAT DOES IT!!!"

As the two boys have their usual fight routine, Chacha picked up the now neglected picnic basket and then hugged Seravi really tight.

"Don't worry about us, Teacher Seravi. We'll be back in just a few days. Besides, I have Riiya and Shiine with me." Chacha said with a lovely smile that said it all.

And Seravi smiled the smile back. "I know you'll take care of yourself, Chacha. Just as well, be careful, okay?"

"Okay teacher! Bye now!"

Chacha said, "Magic broom, appear!" and flew away, yelling to the two boys, "Shiine, Riiya, will you two hurry up?"

The two boys immediately ceased fighting. Shiine summoned his own broom and nearly flew away. Riiya hastily transformed into wolf form and grabbed the end tail of Shiine's broom. They nearly crashed back to the earth, fortunately Shiine's a better driver than Chacha so he quickly recovered.

As the three sped towards the horizon, Seravi could still hear Shiine's yelling, "You nearly had us killed, you stupid dog!", and Riiya's "I'M NOT A DOG!" reply.

He was amazed on how these children had grown so fast.

The silence in the house was deafening.

It's not that bad, Seravi mused, as he started to clean up the table where they had breakfast.

At least I have time to do the laundry, clean up the house, fix the roof---AAA...AAACHHOOOOO!!! Seravi sneezed loudly.

With the snap of his finger, a large handkerchief appeared in his hand and blew hard on it.

I really have to clean up the place, it's getting a little dusty here.

As he wiped the table, he noticed that he is sweating profusely. Hmm...why is it hot all of the sudden? Oh never mind, I'll just open the window in the kitchen...

Gathering up the plates, he started to walk to the kitchen. But as he took a step, his leg wobbled beneath him. He grabbed the edge of the table to keep him from falling, the plates shattering around him.

Whoa... what's wrong with me?! Seravi alarmingly thought as he collapsed down to the floor.

Hmm...Seravi really have all the luck, Dorothy grumbled to herself, as she flew to that little cottage beside Mochi-mochi Mountain.

I nearly had to bribe him to go with me to that sale at the magic shop, then look what he did!? He just picked the first book he saw there, bought it without a glance. THAT BOOK! That book is the famous Spellbook of Shaurt, the only item in that blasted shop that I really, really want!!!

She was so lost in her dark thought that she nearly collided with a flock of geese. The head goose angrily quacked at the magician but as he saw Dorothy's annoyed gaze, he decided that this woman is too crazy to be reckoned with. Hastily, he steered his flock very far away from this---
this evil witch.

"Arrrgh...I'm gonna get that book, even if it kills me! Seravi, you just wait!" Dorothy yelled, nearly frightening to death the already spooked geese. The poor head bird desperately quacked to his fellow geese to hurry up.

"This is strange. Where on earth is everybody?" Dorothy muttered as she circled the cottage.

She began to feel alarmed when she saw that the door of the house is open.

"SERAVI!?! Where are you?!" Dorothy quickly jumped out of her broom and ran to the house.

She saw him crumpled to the floor.
"Oh my God, no..."

Not minding the shards of glasses and plates everywhere, Dorothy rushed to where Seravi lay still on the ground.

"Seravi! Please Seravi talk to me!" she begged, tears falling on her eyes. These tears fell on the magician's face and he regained consciousness.

"Dorothy....I feel...so weak..."

Relieved that Seravi is still alive, she said brusquely, "Shut up and help me get you to the bed." Softening her voice, "Please..."

Together, they walked slowly to the bedroom, Dorothy half-dragging him. Both are relieved when eventually reached the soft mattress of the bed.

After making sure that Seravi is tucked in and comfortably lying in the bed, she felt his forehead. He's burning up, she noted. Seravi-the-invincible,
sick?

After putting a damp towel in his forehead, she muttered, "Hmmm, now's the time to call a doctor." Some gesturing and, poof!, a telephone appeared on
the side table.

"Umm...yes,ma'am, can I speak to the doctor please...Hmm, yes I've got a patient here, with some sort of a flu...yes, sir he's a magician, and...uhh,
"magic bug"? Only practitioners of magic get sick with it?...Yes, sir, plenty of rest, lots of water,... okay thank you sir... Good day to you too, sir."

With the three kids gone, it seems...

Dorothy sighed. "Seems like I'm stuck here for a while, Seravi."
