So Far, So Good
Born in The Philippines and raised in Queens and Long Island, I attended Hofstra University from 1992-96, where I helped found the literary magazine Font. Going on to earn a Master's in Creative Writing from Queens College/CUNY, I returned to teach English at Hofstra from 1998-2004.
I've been an avid reader of crime and detective fiction since 1993, and have parlayed this into moderating the discussion lists DetecToday, Spenser's Sneakers, and CrimeSeen, editing the original fiction section of Kevin Burton Smith's Thrilling Detective Web Site and The Lineup: Poems on Crime, reviewing for Crimespree Cinema and Nasty. Brutish. Short., and writing the film/TV column for Mysterical-E. In June 2008, I was elected to a two-year term as president of the Short Mystery Fiction Society.
I also continue to write my own fiction and poetry, appearing in various print and online venues.
