This Indenture made the 14th day of August in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and sixteen between James Sewell of the one part and Richard Chandler of the other part, both of the County of Franklin and State of Georgia, Witnesseth the aforesaid James Sewell for and in consideration of the sum of five hundred dollars to him in hand paid by the aforesaid Richard Chandler on or before the signing and delivering of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have this day bargained and sold and do by these presents bargain and sell unto the aforesaid Richard Chandler all that tract of land or parcel of land lying and being in the County aforesaid on the waters of bear creek containing one hundred acres more or less being the place whereon the said Richard Chandler now lives lying on this west side of the said creek beginning on the creek where Glasscock lives crosses and joining Colemans corner on said creek, being part of a tract of land originally granted to Thomas Harrington running N 60 W to a pine corner, thence 530 W. 49 chains to a pine corner, thence 500 E. to a white oak corner on the said creek thence up the meanders of said creek to the beginning corner.  Also one other tract or parcel of land containing one hundred acres more or less originally granted to Samuel Phillips beginning on a pine corner running N30 E60 as to a post oak corner, thence No 50 W 18..00 to a post oak corner, thence 500 E. 11:00 to a post oak corner then 530 W to a pine corner, thence 500 E 7:00 to the beginning corner together with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto of each tract belonging, and all profits rents.....and C- unto the said Richard Chandler his heirs and assigns in fee simple, and I the said James Sewell will forever warrant and defend the premises aforesaid to the said Richard Chandler his heirs and assigns forever in withness whereof I have hereunto set my hand seal the day and date above written.
