Though your family members have drawbacks show them your real love. Great love will cover multitude of sins
The Lord is perfect. So when He comes into us, He sets right everything that is defective in us and makes us perfect.
"But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than the unbeliever" I Timothy 5:8.
Even when the people of your family hate, reject or reproach you, please be filled with the love of our Lord and show love and respect to those people. (I John 3:18). Though your family members have drawbacks show them your real love.
A pious and praying couple got a son as a gift for their diligent prayer. The mother brought up the son with piety and fear of God. Every Sunday she taught him Bible lessons, verses and prayers. She did not leave a stone unturned to bring her son up as a pious young man. But when the boy grew up he was influenced by his bad friends and went astray. But the mother did not give up. "I will not leave the Lord until He redeems my son and uses him mightily in His ministry". With this firm resolve she knelt at the feet of the Lord and prayed unceasingly for the salvation of her son. One day the Lord revealed her a message. "Dear daughter, it is true that your son is walking in an evil path. But even at this stage of his sinful life, you show your motherly love to him in great measure." It was very hard for the mother to accept. But she prayed to the Lord, "God, please take away all my anger and hatred from me. Fill me with your divine love. Teach me to love my son as I ought to love him at this stage." She prayed for this grace everyday. When the son misbehaved and kindled her anger and hatred, she exercised great patience and was praising God in her heart. She began to show her motherly love inspite of his wild behaviour. As days passed by her anger and bitterness subsided. She began to fast and pray once a week for her son. The Lord listened to her tearful prayers. The Lord influenced him into His ways completely. Not only that, according to the prayer of the mother, the Lord raised her son as a mighty man of God. The mother rejoiced greatly and her joy knew no bounds (Ephesians 3:20).
You also show divine love to your family members who misbehave and go astray. Great love will cover multitude of sins. All of us are defective, we have our own weakness and flaws. So let us not find fault with others and involve in mutual mudslinging on one another. Let's exercise great restraint and patience by praying diligently for such people. Holding on to such responsibility, please pray faithfully for others. If you do so your family will be filled with boundless blessings, great joy and divine peace. Because of godly love, the Lord would offer your family a pleasant and blessed life with uncorrupt one-mindedness among the family.
Prayer
Our loving Lord,
I praise You for being the embodiment of immortal love. Help me to always lean on You specially in situations where I find no love. I beseech the Holy Spirit, the Comforter to pour the love of God in my heart so that I can share it with my dear ones who may be far away from You. Bless me this day with Your happiness, peace and joy with surpasses all understanding. In Jesus' name I pray.
