THIS OLE HOUSE
Hello and welcome to This Ole House. I am
really happy that you have decided to visit my
site. This Ole House was written by Stuart Hamblen.
It was copyrighted in 1954 and won the Song of the
Year Award that same year. He was approximately 46
years old at that time.
Rumors has it that it was written in his latter years,
which is not true. Other rumors has it that he was
ailing in he later years from arthritis or other ailments
and that he would not need the house much longer.
Some other stories have been told , that due to his
age near the end of his life in 1989, he would not need
the body that housed his spirit much longer. No matter
what we have heard, we know that he left us a wonderful
song. It has been recorded by several people, but
Rosemary Clooney is probably one of the best known
