This is a collection of the coolest shots we've ever made during our frequent visits to the local pool halls. Some of the balls that aren't directly involved may have been in slighty different positions when we made the shot, but the cue ball and object balls are in the right places. All of these shots were made during called-shot games. No slops allowed. Also note that these are the cool shots we've made. We haven't included all the crappy shots we've missed.
Graham - This is my personal favorite. We were playing doubles and the other guys had just sunk their last four balls but missed the eight. It looked like the worst possible arrangement of balls you could ever get, but then I saw this shot. I smiled and said "One in the side, two banks." It left me in place to make the four in the lower corner, too. But then I missed the eight. I choose not to remember who won that game.
Graham - This one is my all-time second favorite. Sean left me with this pukey shot (I'm high) and I thought I'd give this bank shot a go. The angle I was at gave the 14 just enough english to hit the pocket, and the cueball obediently crept out of the way.
Graham - Carom shots always freak people out. Both Sean and I make these often enough for people to hate us.
Graham - I just thought this was neat because it's a long bank in the corner after squeaking between the two striped balls.
Graham - Here's a shot Sean made against me. He likes to try this shot and I always used to tell him that it isn't makable. I don't tell him that anymore.
Graham - This shot was more lucky than cool because the balls were set up just nice. Still, a four ball combination is pretty cool no matter how you slice it.
Graham - This shot just speaks for itself. Don't make shots like this if your opponent is bigger than you and has violent tendencies. Luckily, mine didn't.
Graham - It took me a bit to see this one. It was cool because the ball rolled straight in, nice and slow, nice and smooth.
Graham - This was a cool combination because it wasn't straight in at all. It also left me in a nice place for the 15.
