Glass Thickener version 3 preview
This is the preview page for GThick 3.0. This new version of GThick is a full-blown plug-in, written in C++, that does volumetric transparency and translucency. It's getting close to done, but there are still a few bugs remaining, so all I can show for now is some images:

This is my attempt at a wineglass, like that L6 render that went around the newsgroups a while back. The cowstics aren't quite as nice as L6's caustics, but I think the glass itself is pretty darn sweet. Click image for larger version.

The image on the left shows the diffraction feature in its early stages. The one on the right shows off the nice shadows. Click image for larger version.

These images show off the Cowstics feature of GThick. "Cowstic" means "Caustics, Only With Some Terribly Inaccurate Cases". These are simulated caustics, i.e. not physically accurate, but they look better than nothing! I just want to show these off before LW6 comes out :) Click images for larger version.

Teddy René Hansen (one of my beta testers) sent me these wonderful images. Visit his web page at http://www.trhlogos.dk.

Here's some more images. The image on the left shows what happens to the cowstics with differing refractive indeces. The image on the right shows off the new color gradient feature. Click images for larger version.
