Welcome
to the East Valley Pigeon Barn
Thank you for coming to my
site.
Pigeons have been a part of my life
since 1974.
During the past 3 decades I have raised Birmingham Rollers and West of
England
Tumblers predominantly,
I have also dabbled in Modenas, Norwich
croppers, Parlor rollers, English Trumpeters, Jacobins, Capuchins,
Indian
Fantails and an assorted list of others.
I have learned about and ultimately studied genetics as a result of my
involvement in this hobby.
Beside my faith in God, This hobby has given me more than any other
endeavor I
have been
Involved with to date.
Pigeons have influenced humanity for thousands of years.
It is a shame that some people think pigeons are
filthy disease carrying animals.
They are not that, they are the world’s oldest hobby.
Check out my site and hopefully you will see why I love them.
All constructive comments and criticism of course is welcome.
English
Trumpeters
I raise
English Trumpeters. This will be my second attempt to establish a
family of ET's and raise competitive pigeons in this breed.
My friends Joe Hammons and Diane Jacky and Wayne Hanson have given me a
start. I currently have ET's in White, Splash in Red and Yellow, Blue,
Black, Recessive Red, Dun and
Yellow.
I also have
some special genetics projects I am pursuing. Toy Stencil (Ts) is my
pet project.
My ultimate goal is to raise top quality ET's in and win at the pageant
of pigeons in California with Ash Red,
Blue and Brown in English Trumpeters.
A mighty high goal it is, but I feel it is attainable.
Other Pigeon
Breeds
There are many many different breeds of pigeons. There
are three main categories of pigeons.
Performance breeds, Show breeds and Utility breeds.
There is more information on these categories elsewhere
on this site.
I am also pursuing my interest in Birmingham Rollers and
bald head West of
England
Tumblers now that loft space allows.
My new friend Peter Tapia of Albuquerque New Mexico has offered to help
me get back into West of England Tumblers. A very generous man indeed.
My long time friend Chris Summerhayes has bred me up a kit of rollers
to fly so it seems my plans of flying rollers again and breeding Wests
has come to fruition.
I thank God for all of my friends.
More pictures will certainly follow as time allows.
English Trumpeters and West of England Tumblers are show
pigeons and
Birmingham Rollers are a performance breed.
Birmingham Rollers should not be confused with Show Rollers, a show
breed. They are entirely different in many respects.
Thanks for coming to my site. Look around. I hope you enjoy what you
see :)
Please take a moment to sign my guest book, Thank you.
