Dr. Buzzard's Original Savannah Band
1920's styled disco band. First album released in late 1976 was extremely well
received - one reviewer said "It sounds more like the music of the 1980's
than the 1920's". Listen for the fabulous "Cherchez la femme" and
"I'll play the fool" (both big international disco hits). None of
their other LP's are worth having at all for disco merit, though.
The Dr. Buzzard project spawned a number of other acts over the years,
including Don
Armando's Second Ave Rhumba Band, Cory
Daye, and later in the 1980's, Kid Creole and the Coconuts.
