Detroit Spinners
Spinners
"Detroit" was added to the Spinners name in the UK to avoid confusion
with the UK folk group of the same name. Group was originally formed in the
1960's, and towards the end of the 1970's recorded several good disco tracks,
culminating in their 1980 international smash hit "Working my way back to
you". This track was arranged by Michael
Zager. However we must not overlook the more obscure including the funky
"Once you fall in love" and "If you wanna do a dance". More
soulful hits include "Rubberband man".
"Love or leave me" was a very early 12" Atlantic promo, and
was one of the very first 12" singles ever pressed in the world.
