Detroit Emeralds

Soul group formed in the early 1970's, and released soul classic "Feel the need" in 1975. Riding the disco boom, the group rerecorded this track and speeded it up two years later. Meanwhile, they had a successful disco album produced by Dennis Coffey and Mike Theodore on the Westbound label. The best disco track from this album was the title track, "Let's get together", although strangely the single lifted from this album was the inferior "Turn on lady". These tracks were mixed by Tom Moulton.

"Feel the need" was later covered by skateboarder Leif Garrett.
