DC LaRue
Prolific disco writer on the Pyramid label in mid to late 1970's, appealing to
gay scene. Best known release was "Cathedrals", a good bus-stop
number. Other good disco songs were "Overture", "Hot jungle drums
and voodoo rhythm", "Pounding with desire", "Let them
dance" and "So much for L.A.". This last release is the only
disco-like item from the album Star Baby, where LaRue tried to escape from the
dying disco market. The song "Do you want the real thing" appeared on
the soundtrack to the film "Thank God it's Friday". His song "You
can always tell a lady (by the company she keeps)" appeared in the film,
but not on the soundtrack.
"Cathedrals" was the first commercial 12" on the Pyramid
label.
