Aquarian Dream

Cult jazz-funk disco band from the mid to late 1970's. With vocals by Sylvia Striplin, they were originally signed to Buddah for "Phoenix", a heavily orchestrated disco-styled song. This track is available on a UK-only 12" (although it wasn't pressed until 1978). Later releases include "You're a star" (also a UK only 12" on Elektra), a classic jazz-funk / disco song - listen to that bassline - and "Disco juice". From their album "Chance to dance" listen to "Gettum up and dance".

Their first album was a double album in the UK, pressed with wide grooves for disco use. The tracks are exactly the same as the single-album US copies.
