The Wayside's End
The dark days clouded in my mind
because of trust in human kind

And when it faltered this trust of mine
To which I gave to human kind

It all but destroyed who I was
Is truth and justice but the cause?

Yes! For when I gave my all and it took the best of me
My injured body could not perform with perfect harmony

They left me by the wayside our laws said that's okay
Because you can do something there's no price for them to pay

Although there is but half of me no job that I can find
They left me by the wayside with little left behind

For when it comes to factory it's profitable for them to gain
No matter who or what it costs the outcome is the same

Yet will they remember from where or whence they came
Who got them where they are today, the man, the work,
the pain

Don't leave us by the wayside we've much yet to give
We trusted and we toiled for you just to survive and live

And when each day is over and your counting up the cost
To all the dollars that you've gained and all the dollars
that you've lost

Will you remember in human form the bodies lost and won
To what the cost of human kind and harm that you have done

Truth and Justice where are these
among the lives of men
Are they merely a tender hearts dream
to be left by The Wayside's End?

This is not ment to be implied to any particular work area.. all work areas have injured workers..  It is from this that this poem came about..We must NOT forget our responsibilities as a society to have laws to protect us and our loved ones.

Our laws today are changing and in that
we must all keep a watchful eye
to protect our children and childrens children.
Please always take time to vote and be a part of our ever changing laws..
We do and can make a difference
