Footprints In The Sand

One night a man dreamed he was walking along the beach with the Lord. Scenes of his life flashed across the sky. There were two sets of footprints in each scene, his and the Lord's. Looking back at the footprints in the sand, he noticed that sometimes there was only one set of footprints, and that this happened at the lowest and saddest times of his life. Bothered, he said to the Lord, "You said when I decided to follow You, that You'd walk with me all the way. Yet during my most troubled days, there is only one set of footprints. I don't understand why, when I needed you most, You would leave me." The Lord replied, "My precious, precious child, I love you and I would never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering when you saw only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you."

Dancing on top of the World

With trembling hands and a racing heart, I step out into the radiant spotlight. A fake smile of confidence is painted across my face. I walk with my head held high, and gather my energy. One deep breath, now I am ready. I look out over the edge of the stage and I am blinded for an instant. My eyes focus through the bright white lights, And I observe the scene laid before me. I take in a flood of people with anxious faces and impatient children. My heart begins to pound, faster and faster, until it beats so violently that it hurts. I know my job is to make them smile. The music begins, and I am soon lost in the movements. I become suddenly comfortable., as the world around me dissolves into a whirl of confusion. I disappear into a world all my own. My eyes dance with joy even more rapidly than my feet, as I share my talents with the audience. It is clear that I love what I am doing. On queue, I am jerked back to reality, and I freeze. Remembering where I am, and what I am there for, I gaze once more past the blinding lights. I focus on the people, who are now risen before me. I see a thousand smiling faces, and children immersed in awe. Sounds of clapping and cheering ring loudly in my ears. Amid the excitement and chaos, only one thought rushes through my mind. I have done my job, and I am on top of the world.

Path leading nowhere?
Somewhere, down back up out in
Fly by tremors of loneliness
Threehundredsixtyfullcircledegrees
of separation
Come full circle
down back up out in
Somewhere found you lost you
Found me
Ran somewhere down some path leading
nowhere, not even somewhere
Down back up in out away
Running Smack!
No mercy brickwall
into your arms.

Ponchos

Ponchos, yes, are lots of fun.
They bring out creativity in everyone.

Ponchos can be skirts, turbans, wings, or capes.
They will easily be cleaned if spilled on by grapes.
Ponchos will protect you from the rain;
the rain in Spain found mainly in the plain.
Ponchos come in many colors-
red, blue, green, and yeller.
Ponchos are worn in many places;
many countries, many races.
Ponchos can be bought in Disney World.
Although they will not help your hair to curl.
Ponchos are made in various sizes;
for the young, old, girls, and guyzes.
So buy a poncho, they're pretty cheap.
They're so much fun, they'll make you leap.

Footprints

To Sarah Cook I was introduced
When a tap ensemble she produced
To help kids as thee, helpless you see
To become everything they could possibly be

A spot in her company I wished to receive
So I cried when I failed...her pet peeve
But my skills as a tapper she recognized
With other tappers I synchronized

Instead of making me sad and down
She put a smile on my face, not a frown
A spot in her company I truly received
And boy you can imagine how I was relieved

A smile from ear to ear was left on my face
And free time on my schedule rehearsals would replace
But being with her and them made me feel unique
Like a rag doll from Grandma being loved as we speak

We've grown to love one another like family
When it comes to decisions we usually agree
They support me whenever my feelings aren't high
My love for them piles high to the sky

We do things for people whose conditions aren't best
Like Yessica who's Spanish, and her family's depressed
We're willing to show you our appreciation
And love for tap with determination

Each year we grow larger in size and in fame
To get better and better, a direction we aim
And if you do that, you deserve it fair and square

Sarah's taught us well, and we've improved since
And oh, I've forgotten, we're called Footprints
Footprints, like the ones in the sand
From a poem about Jesus and how He holds our hand

So as a company we go up
And as a company we go down
Yet as a company we stick together
As stiff as a board as light as a feather

And as a company we have guessed
By Lord God and Jesus, we have been blessed

There is a place,
up in the sky,
where sun shines bright,
and birds don't fly

there is no hatred,
in this place,
there is no killing,
this they don't face

"they" are the people,
"His" strongest of followers,
"they" are kind,
and happiness wallowers

and "He" is the leader,
the man that is high,
the GOD all mighty,
who choses to fly

"He" choses to fly,
and fly he must,
to show the people,
of him, they can trust

and Him they MUST trust,
for their soul to survive,
so their own free spirit,
may stay alive
