The Dilaudids are no more. Our
last show was Halloween of 2000. Singer Pat Nowhere
is on the West Coast, keeping
one step ahead of the law (I hope). Kevin and I are playing,
respectively, bass and guitar
in The Freeze and I'm also playing bass for Ghoul Squad. I'm
not sure I mind the end of The
Dilaudids...the last few show were very cool but with problems
with venues and law enforcement
it gets kinda ridiculous. The 4 songs we did in the studio came
out
horrible...Kevin wants to mix
it down but I'd rather let it die. We started out half a decade
ago playing
hardcore punk as we knew it and
the songs fit where we were in life at the time...Pat and I were
full
blown junkies, guitarist at the
time Mike Tupper was on his way besides being a alcoholic and
basically
crazy...Kevin was, well we'll
just say Kevin was on the wrong side of the law. In the years
since I've
done a few years in prison, Kevin
and Pat have both done some time themselves, Mike moved to
Arizona to open a tatoo studio,
our new bassist Damien joined when I switched back to guitar after
Mike left and quickly found himself
in jail soon after. I've cleaned up my life...I don't use drugs
anymore
and that's the main reason I'm
happy that this band is done. I'm not in the same place I was
when most of
these songs came about. To all
the people who were at some of our shows and had fun: I'm glad.
We had
fun too. It's just time to move
on.
