The 61st Ohio Infantry
    Welcome to the home page for the 61st Ohio Veteran Volunteer Infantry.  The 61st was formed in April, 1862 at Camp Chase, Ohio and served in both the eastern and western theaters.  In March, 1865 the 61st was consolidated with the 82nd Ohio Infantry and thereafter was known as the 82nd Ohio.  The unit was mustered out in July, 1865.
