REMEMBER the New Seattle?
Of course you don't. That was bloody
ages ago.
A lot has happened since the glorious years of, ooh let me see now, 1993-98 when Newport truly ruled the punk rock world.
Five years or five minutes, I - for one - had a hell of a blast. I spent a fortune putting out brilliant records; I overheated several stolen photocopiers to bring out a sporadic zine; I lost a few friends and got them back, I rattled the Stone Roses for a bit - then finally gave up.
Loser? Part-timer? Fairweather zinester? Maybe.  But - as Neil Young so poignantly didn't put it - "It's better to fade away than it is to blow your head off with a shotgun".

And I'm glad I didn't turn into one of the shameful careerists that popped up from under some rock or other way back then. Some are still here, continuing to make money out of other people's work. Some made a fast buck and buggered off.
Hello Wayne. How's Australia?
I thought it might just be time to bring FRUG! back from the dead. But no ink on my fingers this time, baby. Hey, this is the 80s after all. I was a teenage CyberGwent Boy.
Stick around, people. You never know what might happen.
