Your friends and family will be delighted with this trick, and it will bring roars
of laughter, as you the trainer become the "victim" of your horse's "horse laugh". You will probably enjoy the funny situation more than anyone. 1st Training Session Any horse can be taught to roll their upper lip back and throw back their head. This gives the impression they're laughing. It is accomplished by tickling them above the lip with a feather or finger. Different scents under the horses nostrils, may also have the same effect. 2nd Training Session If you use a feather, experimentation will reveal the right spot, which will cause your horse to roll back their lip. As you bring your hand to your horse's muzzle, call them by their name and say, "What do you think of me as a horse trainer?" The key word to emphasize is trainer. Once conditioned, your horse will roll back their lip whenever you say the word. Your audience is led to believe that your horse is poking fun at you as a horse trainer. Be sure to reward them every time they roll back their lip. Note Remember all tricks are based on the conditioned response which is another way of saying "Practice makes Perfect". Once the trick is learned, your horse will respond correctly every time. The simplest example of a conditioned response is when a horse pushes down a lever to get the water to run into an automatic water trough. Even getting your horse to dring from a water bucket, which has been placed in his stall is another example of that particular learning process, that is known as a conditioned response. |
