Where to get those tickets

From the Seats, February 6, 2005

MINNEAPOLIS - Tickets are now available to purchase for games to see the Minnesota Twins try to make back to back to back to back Central Division Champions. But where is the best spot to buy the tickets? With so many places now it is a question that can come up.

Tickets are available by calling the twins at 612-33-Twins or 1-800-33-Twins, online at twinsbaseball.com, at Pro Shops, or at the Dome. So where is the best place to get them?

That all might depend on the individual. How much more than the price for the tickets do you want to spend?

By calling the Twins you get a handling fee tacked on. If you have them shipped to you, you get to pay for the shipping. If you pick them up at will call than it is just the processing. It has been a while since I have called for tickets, but its around $2.75/ticket for handling, and another $2.50 for shipping.

If you go online you now have the convenience of printing out tickets at home when you buy them. This is a nice feature as I have done it for an Orioles game I attended last year. You save on the shipping but pay an extra $1.75 for the convenience. The $2.75/ticket processing fee is charged no matter what way you chose to get the tickets.

Going to the Pro Shops has a charge of $1 fee per ticket. And you walk out of the Pro Shop with your ticket in hand. No processing fees here.

Walking up to the Dome might be the best way to go. You pay for the ticket, that’s it. The only downside could be having to stand in line and having availability not be as good. This is a good option of you are not picky on where you are going to sit or if you are doing GA seating. But for bigger games where larger crowds are expected this is not the best route.

Now that you know what could be the best idea for tickets go out there at get some!
