Ordonez in Detroit — The Change to the Tigers and Central

From the Seats, February 4, 2005

DETROIT - There is a mutual interest between Magglio Ordonez and the Tigers. And the Tigers are willing to spend, even “overspend” to sign him to the Tigers.

Detroit has been rumored to offer Ordonez a 5 year $70 million deal. But his money sucking agent, the A-Hole who is set on ruining baseball wants more. *I am curious, what are you going to do with more? Is a player coming of an injury worth that? The Tigers don't know what they are getting.

The Mets are also interested though, and they will pay whatever to make that work.

I personally would like to see the Tigers pick up Ordonez, continue to level the playing field in the AL Central. Adding Megglio Ordonez in Detroit will help do that. It will also make for another productive offseason for the team and should help them improve from last year.

The one thing the Tigers must be careful with is since they have signed more veteran players that cost them money they cant let them leave via free agency. The Tigers will need to trade these players before their contract is up to rebuild their farm system.

I talk as I know all about the Tigers and their highs and lows. HA! I haven't a clue, this is just my thinking, let me know fromtheseats@yahoo.com.

Baseball will be better off if Ordonez ends up in Detroit rather than New York.
