Props & Flops for ALDS Game 2, Twins 6 Yankees 7 - (12 innings)

PROPS TO:

*Justin Morneau: Went 2-4 with 2 RBI and got the Twins on the board in the first with a base hit.

 * Torii Hunter: Had a huge HR in the 12 to give the Twins the lead. Went 3-6 with RBI and 3 runs scored. Hunter has done his thing so far this post season.

*Cory Koskie: Big hit against Mariano Rivera that would have won the game if the wall in left field was a little taller. Still a big run that would lead to the Twins tying the game up.

*Michael Cuddyer: 2 more hits tonight and driving in 1. Made a nice double play to get Radke out of some trouble and went from second to first to second.

*Derek Jeter: Got the Yankees on the board with a 1st inning HR and scored two runs, one of them the game winning run.

*Alex Rodriguez: 4-6, 3 RBI and 2 runs scored. Need I say more?

*Twins Bullpen: (Balfour, Rincon and Nathan) Even though Nathan lost the game, he pitched two very good innings. Balfour and Rincon were also very solid and made it possible to tie it up and go as long as it did.

*Jon Lieber: Pitched good enough for the Yankees to win and left with the lead.

FLOPS TO:

*Jason Kubel: Went 0-6 tonight and looked very shaky. Not all his fault, but cant be swinging at balls at the eyes.

*Gerry Sheffield: Slipped a little in the first inning which lead to the run to score, later in the second he made a catch and had a possible play at the plate that wasn’t that long of a throw that ended up far off target, if it is on he has a double play.

*Jacque Jones: Makes the catch in the 12th but the throw was a little on the weak side. A strong throw had a chance of getting to home before Jeter.

*Brad Radke: 8 hits and 5 runs, all earned in 6 1/3 innings. Not exactly what the Twins needed out of Radke. 3 BB and 0 K’s are very unusual from him.

*Mariano Rivera: Asked to get 5 outs and came in and gave up the lead. He should be thanking the wall in left field, it is what saved him and the Yankees from the loss.

*J.C. Romero: Not because the sac fly came with him on the mound, but because of what happened before the end of the season where he couldn’t get the job done leaving Gary with no faith in him for tonight.

*Mark Wegner: The home plate ump, a goofy strike zone tonight, started out tight, than opened up, you also get a flop from last night, not knowing exactly what a check swing is.
