Favorite moments of the 2004 season. *April 5 - First game of the season, Stewart hits a 3 run home run to left filed to win the game 7-4 in the 11th inning. *April 6 - Second game of the season, Twins tie it up late and the Twins win it in the 15th! *May 13 - Against the M's Santana pitches 8 shut out innings, Nathan come out for a 1-2-3 9th and Twins win 1-0! *May 19 - In Toronto in the top of the 9th the Twins manage to load the bases, they are down by three and send LeCroy to the plate. He hits a grand slam to center field to give the Twins the lead, Nathan came in to finish it off! *June 10 - Doug Mientkiewicz poster night and he doesnt even start. But in the 9th inning, down 2-1 to the Mets with 2 out LeCroy gets a base hit. Offerman comes on to pinch hit and drives a double to the gap, LeCroy scores from first on a bad throw and the Twins end up winning on a Mike Ryan single in teh 15th! *July 22 - Against the Rays Punto hits a grand slam, to be followed by another grand slam by the Rays. Cuddyer than hit a home run the next inning to take the lead, which they would hold for good. *July 26-July 28 - Against the White Sox in Chicago, this is the series Hunter plowed over their catcher and caused people in Chicago to think Hunter is a dirty player. The sweep of the series put Chicago out of the running for thre rest of the year. *July 31 - Doug Mientkiewicz had just been traded to the Red Sox before the game. It was a pleasure to be apart of the crowd that gave him a standing ovation, thanks Doug Mientkiewicz! The Twins went on to win the game! *August 1 - Santana had another great outting agianst the Red Sox beating Pedro Martinez. The Twins scored two runs on a sac fly, well, one run was due to an error! *September 3 - Santana pitches a perfect game for 4 2/3 innings, and a no hitter into the 7th. *September 19 - Santana strikes out 15 O's and was dominate as the Twins cursed to the 5-1 win. *September 20 - The Twins clinch in Chicago! The third consecutive Central Division Championship! |
