Game 1 of 3: White Sox 5 vs. Twins 1 FINAL

Game Time: 2:46 Attendance: 48, 764
WP: Hernandez (1-0); LP: Lohse (0-1)

PROPS TO:

*Minnesota Twins organization The tribute to Bob Casey was done with class and respect. John Gordon did a nice job with the speech followed by a nice video and than followed by a presentation of a framed headset and poem for the Casey family. The Twins have put a picture, or image of Casey behind home plate, where he used to sit. You can see it if you are in the outfield, I would suggest trying to get a look at it if you can, I am sure it is visible on TV.

*Orlando Hernandez 7 IP, 1 R, 1 ER, 5 K and picking up the win. He kept the Twins off balance all night long by changing speeds. Also worked himself out of some jams.

*Scott Podsednik Got the White Sox on the board after a single and a line drive off Everett that was almost caught by Stewart. He also stole two bases, one of them lead to a run.

*Paul Konerko A solo home run in the 6th was all the Sox would end up needing, it put them ahead, it came after he worked the count full.

*Aaron Rowand After a Dye single in the sixth he hit the second home run of the inning and put the game away.

*Jason Bartlett Driving in the Twins only run with two hits in the game, his RBI coming with two outs.

FLOPS TO:

*Kyle Lohse 5 1/3 IP, 7H, 4 R, 4 ER, BB, 2 Ks, 2 HR. Lohse gave up an early run but came back to make it a nice outing, even after giving up the home run to Konerko he had pitched a good game. It was his second home run that we saw the Lohse of last year, I see Lyle is back with the team.

*Shannon Stewart A rally was started with Cuddyer and Rivas getting base hits and than Stewart hits into a double play.

*Torii Hunter 1 hit on the season so far, swinging for the fences and trying to pull stuff is not working, as it hasnt for him. Hunter needs to get back to trying to hit base hits, not homers.

*Ron Gardenhire Didnt take Lohse out, the mound visit to Lohse before the home run should have been him coming out of the game, or walking Rowand and than coming out. Lohse is a guy that should not be out there too long.
