What do we consider costume?

From our first issue:

Costume is something that, normally, you don’t see on the street. That doesn’t mean you won’t wear it on the street. It just means, that you aren’t going to run into it at the local K-Mart. You could see it at a local Society for Creative Anachronism event, a Victorian tea, or you could be a member of the Goth community. Or even a cosplayer. The list is endless. So by calling it a “costume” we don’t limit the outfit to the back of a closet, only to be taken out at Halloween or for events. You may very well wear “costumes” as street wear. I know I do. What you will see in the pages of Frippery is all the items worn on the street and at events and maybe in the privacy of your own home. But they fall under the category of “costume”. Not that it is a bad thing. You are an individual. We respect and applaud that. And we welcome you to the pages of Frippery.

Does that sum it up for you? We feel it does. Frippery isn't era specific. We cover everything from loincloths to the latest in bustle skirts. How to sell on eBay or how to buy. Where to wear. How to wear. What accessory to wear with your creation. Suppliers. All that good stuff you want but didn't know you wanted.  Frippery is 8 pages of clothing and costume goodness.
