MARKS

What are marks as expressed in the Living Word? Are they tangible, literal markings, to be seen by all, or, are they spiritual, discernable markings, which can be seen only through our works and actions.? To determine this we must know all the marks and what the Bible says they are. It is not what man says the are, but what God, our Father says they are.

1. The first mark recorded is the mark of Cain.
Gen. 4:10 And He said, "What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto Me from the ground.
Gen. 4:11 And now art thou cursed from the earth, which has opened her mouth to receive thy brother's blood from thy hand;
Gen. 4:12 When thou tillest the ground, it shall not henceforth yield unto thee her strength; a fugitive and a vagabond shalt thou be in the earth.
Gen. 4:13 And Cain said unto the lord, "My punishment is greater than I can bear.
Gen. 4:14 Behold, Thou hast driven me out this day from the face of the earth; and from Thy face shall I be hid; and I shall be a fugitive and a vagabond in the earth; and it shall come to pass, that every one that findeth me shall slay me"
Gen. 4:15 And the Lord said unto him. "Therefore whosoever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold." And the Lord set a mark upon Cain, lest any finding him should kill him.

The Hebrew word for mark here is (Strong's 226) owth (oth) a signal as a flag beacon or monument, omen, prodigy (offspring a people to carry on his line.), evidence, miracle, ensign, token. God gave Cain a pledge or promise that he should not be slain, that he would always be present through his offspring. It is not saying that He literally placed a tattoo, color, or anything that can be seen by man, upon Cain. If God had marked Cain so that all could see, He would have placed him into a position where all would know him and slay him, which would be contrary to God's purpose. He gave Cain His protection from being slain so that His (God's) purpose could be achieved.

2. The next use of the English word mark can be found in Ruth 3:4. It is the Hebrew word, (Strong's 3045), yada, (yaw-daw), to ascertain by seeing.

3. The next 1 Sa 20:20. It is the Hebrew word (Strong's 4307), mattarah, as a jail, also an aim such as being closely watched.

4. The next mark 2Sa 13:28. It is the Hebrew word (Strong's 7200) raah (raw aw) to see, a visual mark. This being an actual mark that can be seen.

5. The next two are at IKin 20:7 and 20:22. It is the Hebrew word (Strong's 3045) see above.

The point to this is, is to research the mark that you are trying to identify as to it's true meaning.

The mark that we are concerned with, is the mark of God, or the mark of the beast, as to what it is, and what is truly being reffered to. It is a Greek word (Strong's 5480) charagma (khar-ag-ma) in Revelations that means a badge of servitude. The servitude of Christ or the servitude of the anti-christ (he who is against Christ). These marks are in the forehead, and in the hands, ie, the knowledge of the Word and it's purpose through Christ, and the working for Christ (doing His works) or the teachings of man through doctrinal requirements not in God's Word, but which are the teaching of satan, and doing satan's work which is confusion. Which mark do you have?

You will have to look within yourself because there are no tattoos, or any coloring to show which you have. It is simply who you are working for because of the beliefs that you are accepting as truth. If what you are accepting is in God's word then the mark is God's mark. If it is in mans doctrinal teachings only then the mark is Satan's mark.

Test your teachers. If what they teach is not truly scriptural and is something that God has condemned as something he hates, then which do you serve, whose mark do you bear. Remember you are accountable for your deeds, not your minister, or your church. They have to stand their own judgement separate from you, as you have to stand judgement separate from them. Your teachers are judged first. You can blame no one else, for God has left His word for all to read and learn from. Have your really read it and searched it thoroughly with prayer for understanding through Jesus Christ?
