Signings: 2 more Frenchies in NCAA D1! Two more frenchies have signed with D1 school: Fabien Calvez (ALM Evreux) and Zainoul Bah (Central Park). Fabien Calvez (1.84 m 1984) signed with Evansville (Missouri Valley Conference). He is considered as one the best junior players in French Pro B averaging 22 ppg and 8 apg this season. Fabien will have to sit out for the five first game of the season... Former CSP Limoges PG, Zainoul Bah (1.84 m 1984) who is known in the US as Jean Baptiste Bah) has just signed with Birmingham-Southern (Big South Conference). This season, Bah was playing in a High School in Alabama (Birmingham Central Park) and was considered as one of the top 60 PG of the class of 2004... It has to be considered that both of them are point guards knowing that most of NCAA D1 frenchies are inside players.
Aminata Soumaré to California! Aminata Soumaré (1.85 m) from Dixie College has signed with California in NCAA D1, a college better known as Berkeley. Ami was highly recruited by many women's basketball powerhouses such as Indiana, TCU or Arkansas... Congratulations!
New Frenchy! David Dubois (2.05 1980) who plays for Maine (NCAA div. I) was born in Quebec, Canada but because his mother is from France, David could apply for a French passport. During his junior year, David who is described as a very athletic player has averaged 4.2 ppg and 3.5 rpg.
Seydou Koné transferred! Seydou Kone transferred to Breward CC, the two time NJCAA div. I southern conference champion defending champion. Last season with Cloud County CC, the former BC Cholet player only appeared in seven games averaging 3.14 ppg.
Lionel Medina to North Platte! Former Antibes player Lionel Medina (2.02 1982) will play for Mid Plains-North Platte (NJCAA div. I) next season. Lionel is described as a terrific athlete with great potential.

Thanks to Fred Bullot for the info.
FrenchHoops awards 2004! The 2004 awards have been given. Check out who won....
Another frenchie in NCAA D1! Monroe's Willie Youtchou will play next season for Northern Colorado, an independent NCAA div.1 college. Lots of schools were interrested by the french forward from the Bronx, among them were Wichita St., Florida International, Buffalo or Rider...
JUCO Phenomenon! Franco-Senegalese player Ousmane Konaté (2.07 m) will play next season for Redlands CC, the NJCAA 2003-04 champion. Ousmane Konate who was redshirt last season,  is a very promising prospect that could be one of the best french JUCO player next season alongside with Lionel Medina, Mamery Diallo or Ali Traoré.
French Flavour in CSI... PART 2! Some times ago FrenchHoops has announced the signing of two french players to Southern Idaho... Well, actually both Gael Benzeval and Ali Traoré have left the college before the season started. Ali Traoré who had personnal problems had to come back to France. He is know playing for Quimper in French Pro B. We don't know where Gael Benzeval is at the moment.
CSI still have two frenchies in its basketball team: assistant coach Babacar Sy and sophomore Mohamed Koné.
A Frenchy in UConn! Senior Sammy Ameziane (5'10"), a former Evreux PG, has managed as a walk-on to make UConn's Basketball team. If his stats there are not so great, it is a performance that has to be noticed. Sammy is the first frenchy ever to play with this NCAA powerhouse, futhermore he did that as a walk-on and as a 5'10" PG.
Good luck Sammy!!!
