I usually approach at 40 (knots) to reduce rate of sink!  FRED's performance with the Continental A.65 is very similar to what it was with the 50hp Franklin  4AC 150  but rate of climb is better. (really STOL !) ERIC.

THIS IS THE PROTOTYPE F.R.E.D.

Eric Clutton's FRED 1974 Bill Teasdale photo
Thanks to Bill Teasdale for permission to use his copyrighted photo.  This is The original FRED built by Eric Clutton.  Picture taken 15 July 1972.  Eric lives in Tennesee and still flies this plane regularly. It now has over 2000 hours on it.

Fred at a airshow many years ago. Fred has had many different paint schemes over his 35 plus years.  Thanks to Mick Bajcar for permission to use his very nice photo.

Another fine pic, FRED being towed by Eric Clutton in England.  Thanks to Eric for the picture.

FRED's last paint scheme.  FRED is now being recovered by Eric (June 08)  What will FRED look like next?

Another of FRED's paint schemes in years past

Thanks to Bill Teasdale for this great picture.

This is an old photo of Eric in FREd in 1970.  I wonder if he got off the ground...looks pretty muddy!
