I usually approach at 40 (knots) to reduce rate of sink! FRED's performance with the Continental A.65 is very similar to what it was with the 50hp Franklin 4AC 150 but rate of climb is better. (really STOL !) ERIC.

Thanks to Bill Teasdale for permission to use his copyrighted photo. This is The original FRED built by Eric Clutton. Picture taken 15 July 1972. Eric lives in Tennesee and still flies this plane regularly. It now has over 2000 hours on it.	Fred at a airshow many years ago. Fred has had many different paint schemes over his 35 plus years.
