ScoutPL's Operational Campaign
for Combat-Mission
(SOCC-M)

The intent behind organizing and designing a campaign game is to take advantage of the splendid tactical simulation that we have in Combat Mission and use it to fill out the backdrop for a regimental campaign.
I propose to set up a campaign game that stresses operational skills, while streamlining most of the larger "behind the scenes" issues, like logisitcs, reserves, etc.  I will do this mainly by playing on a level just above the tactical (battalion) level.  Intel, reserves, and supply for example, will all be handled in a much more straightforward, simplified manner.
Each operational player will command a regimental-sized combined arms task force.  The players will make all of the decisions as far as organization, missions, and fire support.  As the elements clash on the battlefield, individual battles will be fought by other "subordinate" tactical players using CM to declare a winner.  Operational players may wear a tactical hat as well so they can enjoy the game play as well.  After each battle, Operational players will be responsible for allocating reserves, planning new missions and deciding what effect the outcome of the last battle has on their overall plans.
