Notes for John Edward MCCLAIN
John E. McClain is shown as age 15, born in Wisconsin in May 1885, and
attending school in the 1900 U.S. Census for Meade County, South Dakota
(Volume 11, SD 1, ED 34, Sheet 7, Line 29). He is living with his
parents, John and Grace McClain, and four younger siblings in the second
ward of the City of Sturgis, Sturgis Township, Meade County, South
Dakota.
A 1998 family record from Pearl Sawyer shows John McClain died December
23, 1960, while another family record shows he died January 23, 1960.
Both records show he died in Burnaby, British Columbia. His obituary
(newspaper unknown) shows he died suddenly of a heart attack at the age
of 75 on Dec. 23rd, 1960, in Vancouver, B.C.
