Great to give as a gift in a decorative mason jar. Or better yet make them for yourself.
1 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/3 cup evaporated milk
1 to 1 1/2 cup nuts
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
Mix first 3 ingredients in a large saucepan.
Cook and stir over low heat until sugar dissolves. Boil slowly, stirring now and then until candy reaches the soft ball stage ( 236 degrees).
Remove from heat and add nuts, and vanilla. Stir until mixture can no longer be stirred. Turn out on to wax paper and separate the nuts into small pieces with finger. This must be done quickly.
