MRS. RUTH MEARS NICHOLS
FEB. 14,1915--NOV. 23,2004
Mrs. Ruth Nichols was a native and life long resident of Fountain Hill and the last living descendent of the Mears family, pioneers of Ashley County. She was a graduate of Fountain Hill High School where she was a member of the Fountain Hill Girl's Championship Basketball Team of 1928-32. She attended Ouachita Baptist College in Arkadelphia where she was an R.O.T.C. Maid, and a member of the W.C.F. Social Club. She was a life long member fo the First Baptist Church in Fountain Hill. Her life was marked by her deep faith in God, devotaion to her family, friends and community.
I WILL TRULY MISS MS. RUTH AND THE STORIES & HISTORY THAT SHE CARRIED WITH HER. SHE COULD ALWAYS BRING A SMILE TO YOU FACE.
