Search Policy
Fort Weyr's holds Search one time per year.  The Search cycle usually begins in August with Hatching taking place in October.

Listed below is Fort Weyr's Search Policy which can also be accessed on VirtuaPern.  These /mandatory/ conditions must be met for all Fort Weyr Searches along with any rules detailed in VirtuaPern's game-wide Search policy.

*1* Your character cannot be holdless.

*2* Your character must have been APPROVED (not created) at least 2 RL weeks before REQUESTING a Search Application.  This is to allow your character enough time to develop and/or to become familiar with VP.  We ask that you only apply with ONE character alt per Search.  Trying to apply with multiple character alts will result in all of them being rejected.

*3* Your character must ICly be at least 13 turns of age but no older than 30 turns of age.

*4* Your character cannot be a resident at Xanadu Weyr.  Neither Fort or Xanadu will search from the other Weyr's lower caverns.  Residents of any of the other areas, including Crafters posted at Xanadu Weyr, may apply for Search.  You must, however, adhere to your area's search policies.

*5* Fort Weyr WILL NOT accept Search applications from characters who DO NOT have the permission of their Area Leaders.  This does include anyone interested in applying as a Stand Only Candidate.  Most Area Leaders send us a copy of permission letter when they send it to the character.  HOWEVER, if they don't, it's your responsibility to send a copy to *Hunt, our Search mailer on VirtuaPern, before we'll accept your application.

*6* If your character is a resident at Fort Weyr (and not part of a Craft), he/she must have been a resident (or guest resident) for at least 4 Real Life months before applying.  *EXCEPTION: Your character became a resident after having been a Fort Weyr candidate in a previous search.  In this case, the 4 RL month rule does not apply.
