No Strings Attached

If it's called No Strings Attached, why are they attached to strings?

Well, it's finally out. And it only took them 6 months since the original release date. But you know what? It's not all that it was lived up to be. JC said: "On most cds you have to push skip a couple of times, but on this one you don't have to." Right. Like that would ever happen. Do you think he's gonna say "You'll have to skip about half of the songs cause they suck."? That would be the truth.

Bye, Bye, Bye: Okay, I've heard this song way too many times. I'm so sick of it now. But to be fair, I'll pretend that it's the first time I heard it. It's a good dance song, nice beat, cool lyrics, all that stuff. It's somewhat original... at least for a single. [Let's all remember Don't Want You Back.] When it first came out I taped it and played it on repeat over and over. Kristen and I had aim conversations about it. Such as:
Me: Oh I love this song! "Just hit me with the truth..."
Kristen: Justin wants you to hit him. He's like "Hit me! Just hit me!"
Me: With pleasure. ::hits Justin and laughs as he falls down:: I'm so evil. :)

See? [And yes that was actually a conversation. I told you we have issues.] Good song. But once again this song was a victim of radio overplay and that kind of ruined it. Although it did give NSYNC fans a way to forever sign their e-mails.

It's Gonna Be Me: This is one of favorite songs on the cd. When I first heard the title I laughed cause BSB has Don't Want You Back and NSYNC has I Want You Back. And now, BSB has It's Gotta Be You and NSYNC has It's Gonna Be Me. I mean, could it get any more confusing? Hehe. Okay, back to the song. I love the beat and... screw it, I just love the song. It's the next single and I'm psyched about that. Should be awesome. And aside from the fact that they seem incapable of saying "me" correctly anymore, those Swedish guys did a good job on this one.

Space Cowboy (Yippie-Yi-Yay): Oh my goodness. This is the song JC is so proud of writing? THIS? Would someone please give this boy a taste of reality? This shows off your song writing skills? Haha honey, not in my book. I don't even get what it's about. Is it like "It's the year 2000, aliens are coming, let's ride in space with a cowboy cause the future is here"? What does a cowboy have to do with space? JC, you were already starting to worry me and now you come out with this?? What the hell? One more thing, no offense to Left Eye or anything, but she just doesn't "fit" into the song. You know, after the 3 minutes and how ever many seconds I was more than ready for this to be over.

Just Got Paid: Ugh. This is a remake. That should tell you something right there. Remakes are hardly ever good. You know, the first time I heard this I laughed. I thought that this was the song Justin wrote. I mean, c'mon, look at some of the lyrics: Check the mirror/Lookin' fly/Round up the posse/Jump in my ride. Does that not sound like something he would say? The one good part of this song is the rap. I dunno why, but it kinda reminds me of the rap he did on The MMC that they show on Before They Were Rock Stars. Do you know the one I'm talking about? Wow, this is a really bad song. One of these reasons being that they chant "money, money, money!" throughout it in the background! That outta tell you something right there. And it ends with someone saying "Ha. I'm broke." Lovely. And aside from that, the ending sounds just like Larger Than Life. To me at least. All in all, it sucks.

It Makes Me Ill: This is, no doubt about it, my favorite song on the cd. It kicks so much ass. I love it. I laughed the first time I heard the title. Cause you usually say "It makes me sick to see..." but not NSYNC, they're using a new word. Woo hoo. You know, I don't think they allowed them to breathe. It's like the recording studio guy [What's his name?] said: "Ready-set-sing!" and 3 minutes or something later they were like "...And breathe." I bet thats' why Justin does his corny as hell "What? We done done it again..." thing at the end. I hate that. It sounds like he's on some major crack and is hyperventilating or something. Anyway, the song is great. I like the lyrics. They're funny. This song is the best.

This I Promise You: I'm one fickle biatch when it comes to this song. The first few times I heard it, I hated it. But then I heard it on the cd and changed my mind. It's just so pretty! So, I've come to the conclusion that I don't like the song live. Cause that's how I heard it the first few times. It'll probably be a single, [seeing how often they sing it] and I'm cool with that. It's actually the only ballad on the cd so far. But I hope there's more. I don't think I can take more JC penned songs. ::cringes::

No Strings Attached: Most people put the title track as the first or second song. But not these guys. It's Lou. He's done something to screw them up. Onto the song though. It's not bad. But then it's not good. I like the part at the beginning [That's also replayed somewhere in the middle] where they're like No strings attached! Dudududududu... You know, that cool beat. I like it. But the song itself doesn't make sense. At least to me. However, I'm strange. I don't really like the song, except for the cool beat.

Digital Getdown: Oh my goodness. Oh my mother f-ing goodness. Whoa. I never thought they'd record something worse than Boys Will Be Boys. Never say never I guess. I actually read the lyrics before I heard this, when the cd hadn't even come out yet. And the fact that JC wrote this scared me. Where does he get his inspiration. Scratch that, I don't even wanna know. Aside from the plain pervertedness of this song, I do um, like it. A lot. What? It's catchy! Don't look at me like that! And I do like Justin's little "chant" at the begining. It's funny. So, even though this song is clearly about cyber/video sex, I still like it. I can't help myself.

Bringin' Da Noise: Let's play a game. I call it English. Speak some. The is the word we're looking for. Very good. This is like Here We Go 2 only I don't like this one. It's just... blah. This is one song they could've used without, maybe for something a little less... -- um, what's that word -- annoying? Yes that's it. Anything would be better than bringin' da house down with da noise. Thankyaverymuch.

That's When I'll Stop Loving You: Boring. I actually have only listened to this all the way through once. And that's because I was falling asleep and they played it on the radio as some "Get to sleep music." It worked. See, I'm not the only one who thinks it's boring. I mean, it's pretty I guess, but the boringness just takes over the prettyness. LMAO. I just made up some words. Awesome.

I'll Be Good For You: Am I the only one who noticed that the beginning of this song sounds just like the beginning of their Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays song? I mean, it's almost exact. I do kind of like this song. Although it took many listenings to to do so. And aside from the fact that the same phrase [I'll Be Good For You] is repeated over and over, it's okay. Yay for Justin! Did I just say that? Uh oh.

I Thought She Knew: Yes I know that this has sentiment. Whoopdefreakingdo. But I don't like it. The fact that Joey sings is shocking in itself. And shocking is good. But it gets old after the first time. I don't understand the song [But that could be because I don't like it enough to listen to the lyrics] and I don't like it. It's boring. It sucks. I'm done now.

Random Stuff: I hate the whole strings thing. It looks terrible and is very corny. The pictures are okay, except I wonder why in the solo shots everyone is looking forward except JC. Hmm. And in the one in the back JC looks like he is on some major crack. It's not good. Lance thanked Britney Spears in his thank you's. But why didn't Justin? lol. Joking. I have individual thoughts on the thank you's but I'm lazy so I won't go get my cd. I was confused how Justin kept talking to people with odd names. His friends sound um... different. And I liked how Chris said his dog had "True pug appeal." Haha. Cheesy, but cute.

I was hangin' with the fellas, I saw you with your new boyfriend it made me jealous
